Most of these places seem the same - Witham's LandRover's are also way overpriced but I am sure they are only guide prices - bet they are open to haggling!!!

Rogue Wave,

At first I was turned off by the tubes but I'm starting to take on your approach, the uglier the better! Well almost...

In all honesty though I've been looking into the materials a little more. Is it correct to say that the older Avon tube material is Hypalon on both sides instead of neoprene on one side and hypalon only on the outside? Judging by how durable the hypalon on the outside is, I imagine the insides must look pristine.

Wouldn't double sided hypalon last quite a bit longer than the newer fabrics? I know the older material is heavier too.

I don't know about the durability but the test is in the tubes onthe seariders which are very old in some cases and still going strong.

Re weight of material I guess the heavier stuff is still available but it would cost more? so manufacturers would use lighter stuff, maybe,

dont forget your boat is Mil spec and that's always been over specced

my searider apparently came direct from the mod via a tender bid in 2000 - successful bid was 1000 minus engine and trailer but with steering, console and lights - if such auctions still exist this has got to be the way to go!

Does look that way generally - but I did buy a Rigid Raider in good condition from them last summer for 400 - I think they sold all 20 within a fortnight - it was the lightweight HHRC as well supposed to be have been kevlar/epoxy...
