Searider engine offset

I am almost ready to cleanup and fill a few holes in my 5.4m transom. The existing engine holes are offset (I need to measure but I think about 1" towards starboard). I found the below thread that states this was recommended from Avon but it seems that most people have them centered. Obviously it would be easier to use the existing holes and not have to fill and patch them them redrill new holes but what are people opbinons on this?

Well that is good news. Thanks guys. It's funny bc the guys at my local RIB shop seemed unaware of such an offset. They have a great reputation but then again I was only speaking to the sales guys and I'm guessing much like car salesmen they really don't know much!

I'll be sure to report back (if I ever get this boat ready for the water).
