searider console.

Hi,
My searider has the navy type low console, with the 3 man jockey seat and grabhandle at the front. In the new year i will be fitting the console back in after flowcoating the deck and console, previously the boat was bare and i will need to fit some basic things like a compass and GPS, maybe a fishfinder.
Now the question is, is there enough room on the top of the console or should i modify it? i was contenplating extending it with a box to provide a larger non horizontal dash board area and some sort of splash screen.
will it be nescessary? or is there enough room to cram everything i need on the exixting surface? I guess most electronics are very waterproof but a screen of somesort would help.

Have you seen these, several differnet sizes and shapes.

The alternative is to change the console for something a little more comfortable

Get a Chartplotter with built in fishfinder. That is what I have on mine, plenty of room for compass as well. plus space left over.
