Searider 6m- converting dual engine to single??

I am looking for any info or threads on converting a sr 6M dual engine transom (max hp = #2 X 90 hp)--to a single outboard

Any help appreciated

Can't you just stick a single outbaord in the middle?

if its like a 5.4 then the twin engine transom has no lowered mid section.
maybe it will be OK with an XXL shaft engine? if not you may need to get chopping!

i put a 25" long leg straight on my 6mtr searider no transom mods worked very well ,avon had no information as they only fitted twin 90s

The Avon blurb doesn't even give a max hp rating for a single motor, only twins.
How did yours perform with a DF140, Paul? Remember seeing it on ebay.

My twin engined searider has the elephant trunk in the centre as orignal spec for this set up.so i would think that will be the main change for you

i loved mine with the 140 but the new owners are putting on a 250

140hp sounds great- will have to find a good used one...--- how do you all feel about the job of re-tubing a sr6m, meaning is it too much to take on and do in garage with detailed instructions- step by step and the help of two people when it comes to attaching the tubes to transom??-
I may be able to pick up this sr6 with new tubes in the box for under 3,000 us dollars

I reckon that has to be a bargain - even if you have to pay to have the tubes fitted!

it looks as if the old tubes have not been taken off completely ,part of the tube and original attachment strips are still on the hull you could glue the new tubes to the old and then fit wider outer strips to give a double thick attachment possibly better if you are not sure of what you are doing
