The aquasignal I've used and posted a link to looks nothing like that, well apart from the handle and lense.

The aquasignal is completely covered in a rubber sheath with the lense been the only exposed part.
I think we're back to you get what you pay for.

The type i,m looking for would be perminately mounted in stainless steel and would swivel round from say a handle under side

I've ordered one of the cheap ones off ebay . I dont intend to use it in tough conditions but I'll see how it is when it arrives & report.

Well this arrived to day & while not being the most solid thing I have ever picked up does seem to be OK for the money. While I'm not impressed by the build quality it does seem to be reasonably well sealed with one all in one type rubber cover ( not neoprene like it says) . Beam seems well strong enough and had good distance for what I need, but the switch is a bit slopy - I can see it breaking & me having to dismantle it to fix it in due course.

For the money I cant complain. If I buy a new one every 2-3 years so be it. If it lasts for 5 I reckon I've got a good deal.

It'll only get occasional use so I'm happy !
