Seagull scarer

Good morning everyone

Apologies if this has been covered previously however my skills prevented me from finding any posts. Can anyone recommend a good device for keeping seagulls from roosting(not sure if this is correct term) overnight. Boat mostly stays on a mooring and sometimes overnight on a pontoon. All ideas welcome.

David

How's that lad beside you getting on with the mad string of Daniel O'Donnell CDs? Might do better if he put them on the stereo...

String of CD's or plastic bags. Cheap but effective.

Willk, bit harsh on our national treasure D O'D, I will keep a close watch might just be the solution.

Jambo, thank you I will also try the plastic bags. Have you ever used plastic decoys?

Hi David yes have but I found the clever bu&&ers got used to it. But they don't like the movement and noise of the bags.

I've been using CDs and strips of red & white builders tape on some fruit trees - they seem to be keeping the "scare" on very well.

I have to confess that the willkcraft looks fairly ridiculous with her CDs flying but she looked much worse piled deep with gull sh1t. Fingers crossed DavidH doesn't fancy the CD solution...

...'cos "my"* gulls are sitting on his RIB!

*They're actually Conor Blake's gulls (which he denies). He has his own method of scaring gulls - but I wouldn't recommend it.

I tried a couple of huge plastic owls (c/w moving head and glass eyes) two seasons ago.

The gulls shat on the owls.

Easier to get off the tubes than dried in seagull splat.
