Sea Rider Transom legs

Hi,

Can anyone recomend somewhere to get the transom legs for a SeaRider 4 Metre.

Have you still got the old ones?

I'd go to a steel stockholder and buy some a4 stainless then take it to a fabrication shop and get them to press and bend the ends into shape. It'll be a shed load cheaper than Avon.

BTW that engine runs lovely now-cheers!

Cheers. Of course the obvious answer was Avon. But that is probably the expensive option.

Glad the engine runs well. I'm having fun with mine also, so everyone is happy.

What design are they Nick. I have some 1" stainless tube and a couple of pieces of 3mm plate that I might be able to fabricate for you! Do these legs go from the top of the transom to the deck?

Hi Andy,

Yeh they are the standard ones.

If you want I can take some pics of the old ones and get some measurements.

The ones I have are rusty. So they can't be stainless. Its a job I am looking to do during the winter when I'm going to completely rewire and also remove the A Frame for tyding up purposes.

To get the old legs off the A Frame has to be removed because it has been put over both of the upper transom bolts. Because of the way the legs are designed the top bolts need to be taken out to get the legs off.

Hope that makes sense.

But it should be easy enough to make a diagram up. I shall be down with the boat from tomorrow until sunday so I'll make a few measurements if thats okay.

Photograph one and add the dimentions on MS paint or something, overall dimentions to include hole size angle beteen the plates. If it is to be an exact match to the old ones (to untilize existing hole positions) I'd need the original ones.

Sizes will be OK for now just to see if I have the material.

I haven't go a problem with that Nick, just be mindful of the fact I'm currently in the job market and when I leave my present job I can't garantee I'll have the facilities anymore.

Got mine from Aladdins Cave in Swanwick - although any Avon dealer should be able to help.

£40 + VAT each if I remember
