Scotland in September

Just got back home from a fantastic two weeks in Scotland.

Based ourselves at a cottage loch side on Loch Sunart for the first week and explored Mull and the Ardnamurchan Peninsula as well as Loch Teacuis where the entrance on a mid-ebb tide (super moon spring) was similar to the swellies when it's emptying!

We then visited Oban, Easdale and Loch Lomond on the way back.

The weather was, of course, superb and we felt like we were on the Cote D' Azure on many occasions rather than in more northern latitudes.

Highlights?

Weather
Scenery
Accommodation at all three locations, Loch Sunart, Oban and Loch Lomond
Fabulous Food
Wildlife, including an otter and heron sharing supper on a rock in Loch Sunart
Hand-dived scallops and fresh mackerel on the plate within an hour of leaving the sea
Peace and (absolute) quiet
Stunning sunrise on Loch Lomond
Belhaven beer
A three-wheeled Morgan at Salen Jetty
A 20 minute chat with the Tobarmory Lifeboat Cox'n who, at 27, is the youngest in the UK and head held the post for two years already.

Here's a few pics.

Yep, look forward to it Chris. I'll be down tomorrow by noon and will go for a blast in the afternoon before heading to the Black Boy for refreshment early evening

Crackin' time thank you Andy.

The midges were no better or worse than they are every year but as long as you remember not to breathe through your mouth, they're manageable. just.

Looks like a great trip and good food - very jealous!

Just the right vehicle/boat setup as well. Easy enough to tow/launch in most places, but ready for anything.
