K. I said you get what you pay for, ie top quality costs more money (IMHO). Your choice of car leads me to believe that you share this philosophy. Or did *** and *** see you coming (through the glass door)?

Hey those are personal details. Oh you've edited... (Don't know why it matters but I have a second-hand car and yes the engineering needs to be reliable as I do a lot of driving for work...)

Top quality does indeed cost more money, but you never really get what you pay for, it's just that the quality manufacturers can get away with charging what I consider to be an unrealistically excessive premium eg. Porsche, Ferrari, Scorpion etc.etc.

(ps. shouldn't have included Ferrari - some of their quality is garbage.)

They only get away with it because we're prepared to pay it!!! Market forces.

Pricing...

...I completely agree!!

When spec-ing out our new boat, I sent identical specs to Parker, Prosport, Ribcraft and Scorpion.

Parker, Prosport and Ribcraft all occupied the same ball park - and the final decision was down to minor issues and personal preference. However, the Scorpion quote was double (yes DOUBLE) the others.

I realise that market forces apply, and that I'll probably never own a Ferrari - but Scorpion really is going for the top end 'luxury' bit of the market, where cost isn't a primary issue (or even an issue at all) - but a sexy moulded bench seat is clearly a MUST!!

However, if I had the cash, I might have gone for one!! They do look the biz!!

Dylan...

P.S. And I shouldn't think a Ferrari would be able to pull my Ribcraft 7.8 when it arrives...
