I personally wouldn't consider one without trim tabs as I think all narrow ribs will heel one way or another due to engine torque, passenger weight or a crosswind. Gavin
Thanks guys some good input, im gonna keep my eyes open for some tabs i hate landing on the hard of a chine in a strong wind it just ruins the fun for everyone! Ive had the nodding already seemed to occur in calmer waters, easy to control and far less unsettling than chine dancing in my mind

Has anyone ever used the ribrepair man?? did he used to work for scorpion? my go fast stripe is a bit tattered and id like to renew it

Rib repair

If he's the same guy who I think you mean, he was the original owner of my Scorpion. I think he's called Scott. He used to do the tubes at Scorpion and they still recommend him for any repair work so I guess he's good.

Gavin

Rib Repairs

I used Scotts services earlier this year, due to some fender rope rubs, excellent work, with a sensible approach, in making the repair look its best. I also have seen some simular work done on a freinds Rib, which enhanced the look of the boat. I have no hesitation in recommending Scott, for any Rib repairs or tubing.

Sorry GT - This is the first chance I have had to look at RIBnet since my last posting.

Yes, it was me (and my daughter, who is my regular crew). Thank you for your kind comments. I look forward to seeing you on the water.

Sadly, I am in the middle of a DIY project at home, so I doubt that you will see Aries IV out on the water again until mid-November. I guess it is a small price to pay for being allowed to play with my "toys" for the rest of the year!

Regards,

Chris.

P.S. I regularly use tabs to keep the boat level but rarely to keep the bows up or down.
