No the tubes have been made using Orca Light Grey fabric.
The owner has chosen to go with dark grey wear patches, grey tear drop fender and grey cleat handles.

Rigging is now well underway and the engine has been fitted with its Security bolt and Tracker.

The console has been fitted with the new Honda gauges and top mount throttle making sure the trim in on the thumb side of the leaver!

The wiring in the console is going in and the engine end is pretty much finished other than a few hols to fill from the old auxiliary bracket.

She’s almost ready for sea trials, we are just waiting on upholstery and conformation of wear patch and handle positions before fitting.

We were quite lucky with the boat in general. Apart for the ground in dirt, bad antifoul, upholstery, wiring, tubes and the lump of plastic coated aluminium bolted on the back and if you ignore the odd gel repair the old girl was solid.

The warm workshops and large tool boxes do help.

Our client confirmed the positions of wear patches and handles yesterday so here they are fitted.

The engines has been tank tested in the workshops along with as many of the new systems tested without the boat getting wet. Looking forward to the splash next week.

I think the patches are just right, it will be pontoon moored so it needed one at the stern for rope wear and one to stand on. The boat has nice lines as it is so your right sany more would be over the top.

We're starting with a bog standard 21"" Ali prop and go from there.

The rope will be tied to the A-frame but it will wear on the top of the tubes when moored up. The rubber handles wont last 5 minutes where this is going to sit.

When Henshaw did Timebandits handles they set them slightly inboard. So from the side you could not see them. Looked very nice :-)

On wider boats this does work, easier to grab hold of while seated and they are out the way from any lines over the tubes. The Scorpion is to narrow to fit them inside, you would catch your trousers on them every time you walked down the boat.

The upholstery matches the tubes so light grey with dark grey piping.

Out client has now taken delivery, we were a little sad to see her go.
