yes all built s.a.

no not all at the same factoty , that would be one big place.

gemini is up the road as well dont forget about that. as well as hysucat and falcon, wild cat and a few others as well. in fact to many to list .

there are lots of boats and boat factorys in cape town not just ribs thats why its so popular as a place to build as there is a large amount of skilled labour we used to be next door to a huge cataman factory +50ft and they always were very busy 6 to 10 in build at once

and across the road they built huge yacths, it does realy open your eyes to how many boats are built in the world each year .

Just out of interest there is a lot of Ribeyes in Guernsey. I have seen 4 this afternoon on the pontoon near me. A couple of things that would bother me that all the outboards are half submerged when fully up, the tubes all tend to look shabby after only a couple of years, too many reports of tubes comming unstuck from the bow and last but not least......you can buy alot better for the same cash. Spend plenty of time having a good look round. You wil be soo dissapointed if you spend all that cash only too find a better buy the following week.

hello

thought id put my ten penn'th in

I tested 600 with a 115 yam at the Boat show this was back to back with the avon 620 also with a 115

i liked both RIBS

but we got wet on the Ribeye so my missus says "No"

also as we were departing the pontoons i spoke to a chap from a rival company who are very well thought of and respected on this forum we discussed the pros and cons of there "585" against the others and for my requirements i will probably be going for an Avon560 in the new year
but what he also said with no malice intented was that i should stay clear on the ribeye as there build was not as good as other RIBS and that they had had to"fix " a number of boats on behalf of ribeye including some that had no drain holes between the cross members and one with a twist in the kneel

Only relaying what i was told

for what its worth i like the look and the lay out of the ribeyes and on the surface the one i looked at and tested seamed well built and comfortable but in the test i thought i felt a bit of slip in the turns but i wasnt driving so not sure

Andy

dont want to be biased as an ex ribeye employee and now a sub contractor who does warrenty tube work , retubing and repairs for ribeye but i have not had to refix any ribeye tubes that have come off the hulls and the only retubes have been older ribtec superyacht tenders that have been completely refurbished

The point really is getting the best you can for your money
I just think that with a budget of nearly 20000 you could more than likely get something better than being discussed.

Here is a good example
