i may be wrong having never done it with anything bigger than a sea kayak but I guess they would lift the boat out of the water onto the ferry and then drop it back in the water when you get back , then you would just have to motor across penzance harbour to your trailer and the slipway , about 200 yds .

It used to be scary watching them crane sea kayaks on at 5m long and balanced on a small pallet , but no harm ever came to them .
