I used to think they were excellent when I was a teenager. As you say crap now.

My reading tastes haven't changed much - prob cos I have never grown up!!! Some of the "must read" books for kids are by Willard Price - real boys own stuff and you learn without even realising it.

A brilliant author not many people have heard of is Stephen Leather. His earlier books were better as he admits himself - the newer books sell better but that isn't everything!!!

I read that post with interest. And as I read it I honestly thought you were going to say the Brilliant author was BogMonster.

Nah but his book is due to be published shortly - "sheep I have known" I think it's called - either that or "Rib repairs for amateurs".......

Wasn't that Sahara movie from one of Cussler's books? Good boat chase in that, not a RIB tho'. Think it was one of those Huntons, made in Romsey no less....
