Safety and support boats for kite surfers

At the end of May this year the world's top ten women kitesurfers are to make the first kitesurf crossing from the Isles of Scilly to Watergate Bay, Cornwall. A date has been arranged to fly the women into the country following an event on the world circuit in late May.

I am arranging the safety and support boat cover for the event and am looking people with large Ribs to help out. I currently have 2 Ribs 7m and 6.5m with 225hp and 200hp outboards and am looking for a couple of similar size boats that are available in the last week in May.

The Kite surfers are looking for a force 5 SW so the boats need to be able to travel at 20 knots in those conditions and have the ability to pick up and transport up to 3 of the women if required.

The 70 mile crossing, which is planned for May 2004, will raise over 10,000 for the RNLI and The Silke Gorldt Foundation and make the Guinness Book of Records for the largest kitesurf crossing.
