My instructors course inc a day of pre assessment.
The trainers on my course we great

I think that is the right way to go.
Trainers need to be sure each potential instructor has the basic off pat.

There are some dame fine instructors out here, there is also a fair few that I would not let run a bath let alone a Powerboat Course.

This is also true of SRC instructors, I have to deal with these people on an almost daily basis and have done for a number of years now.
I am shocked by the questions they ask me and think "OMG this person is asking me this and then teaching the public"
Some of these people have no basic understanding of radio and the rules at all yet they get through an assessors course.

There is a failing somewhere in the chain IMHO.

Cheers

Hopefully I can fix this problem and their will be no hard feelings either way between us and you. I thank you for your discresion, and until I pmed you did not realise that we were the school you were referring to. I thought however it was appropriate to bring this into the open. We are after all only as good as our last **** up.

Now that's what you call customer service .
I think Doug has to be admired for his honesty and for being brave enough to bring this out into the open . Well done a very honourable thing to do.
