you don't want the cheapest. you want someone who will deliver effective training suited to your type of boating and your existing understanding, and your learning style. If that happens to be the cheapest then bonus - otherwise you'll have £50 more in your pocket but have wasted 2 days of your life.

Of course, he might have years of practical experience and just want to get the L2 for insurance reasons?

If you are experienced then just do an assessment, that was what I did, took a couple of hours.
