RYA course changes

The RYA are changing the powerboat scheme!.

I have heard (not sure if it is right) that the safety boat will become modular, the advanced are made harder with an exam and an intermediate day course entered between the level 2 and the advanced.

I have also heard that the advanced if commercially endorsed will be grandfather. If this is the case I had better get a medical completed again!

Is this the case and does anyone knows as an advanced instructor whether we will be adminesting the new test or will it be administered by a yacht master instructor?

Any more light on the matter?
