Angle grinder and abra disc or flap disc. Hypalon is tough stuff but isn't the end of the world if you go as far as the fibres. Just make sure you keep within the boundries of where the strake is going otherwise it'll look awful.


You could try a solvent first, but I suspect you'll have to resort to the above.

PS......I'm getting a hardnose next time .

Andy,

My new starke shall be smaller in width than my present one. It will be approx 10 cms wide instead of the present double one which is about 16 cms wide so I shall have a clean and abraided patch all the way round.

What I think I will do is take the old one off first and see what the end result looks like.

If I think it all needs covering then I might order a double width to hide all the crappy bits. That was my original idea but it was going to be two cheap thin strakes instead of the one nice expensive strake. I don't want to spend tons on renewing the strake.

Cheers for the info tho mate. At least those flappy things are easy to get hold of from B & Q.
