round vancouver island
we have a race around vancouver island (580 n miles) on canada day (july 1st). the boats that compete are cigarette boats and the record is approx. 16 hours. sure would like to see some ribs enter but we seem to have a shortage of fast offshore ribs in this area. how many miles around england and what is the record? vancouver island offers lots of different unpredictable weather and ship graveyards off the west coast. last year only one boat made the complete trip( only 4 entered). i guess that because there is no prize $ that limits the entries. maybe one of you guys with lots of $ could bring your rib over and set a new record.
