That did cross my mind...I've easily got the range, but the sea would have to be flat both ways.

Only one man I know can book flat sea.....whisper!!! :-)

We could have made it back from Alderney last year in a sib it was that flat, longjohn did it in his 4.7 rib

Next channel crossing is the St Vaast trip in October

I fancy doing some long range stuff in the fc470 when I get 5 mins to finish it off.... Would love to do Dover Calais in it in company with a rib or two....

With Your Boat I wouldn't worry TOO much about having Flat Seas for a ''New Cruising Challenge'' ....that 585 will take you Most Places, in most conditions..if you know how to Helm it.
