Seriously? In 4m RIBs? In a day? This is "my" stretch of the coast - guys, pray for the best weather you ever saw...

Was Donegal (Town?) initially planned as a stopover? It's waaay up a tiny unmarked tidal channel and dries! I hope the planning continues to be refined...

Hope the 2nd build is going well Alan - where are you departing from in July, there should be a rib gathering for the send off.

Sorry to hijack the thread. Ireland sounds good, we are considering it but were planning a round brittan and dont have time for both unfortunatly.

Hi ,
I calculated the fuel for my Yamaha 90hp for this 175 miles trip and beside of my 90 l inbuilt tank I would need to put extra 100l fuel in jerry cans into the boat ... and will not have much reserve ..
I asked HMS to consider a fuel stop at least cause I think I`ll not be the only one with this problem ..

*went today to the Baltic Sea and circumnavigated Rόgen . Moderate wind , temperature just above 0° but we had a lot of fun !!!
For the 170km I burned 82 liter of fuel .
Boat was quite loaded - similar to the RI next year - and under this conditions I am good with 0.5l/km

I agree.... Very optimistic......

In reference to Donegal. Think was the county rather than the town, knew would have to stop in Donegal somewhere. Splitting this leg my be wise, or more likely necessary due to wx? Derry/ ballycastle/fahan/downings/portrush all possibilities.

guys don t forget that it will be a challenge, bushrider, did you already thought about flatable tank, linked on a switch ? we had that on a previous boat 2 extra 35 liters. Of course we can t have any power on weather condition, but i m pretty sure that in group naviguation, we should help all participant.
it s also forseen that a van will follow us with petrol. i need to add 2 extra tanks on my boat to make sure having enough petrol, i ve my 200L inside tank and additional 2 X 20 L
it s gonan be a great experience !

Not meant to be a criticism folks. Just meant to be a 'heads up'

Conditions around the North East and North West coast of Ireland can be very challenging!

I'm a regular in both areas so I'm aware of them.

Good luck!
