I have the details of this.

Entry fee is size dependent but around £550.

10 day trip.

Plus there is a bit of gear I'd have to get EPIRB, Geko's etc.

Plus fuel.

Plus accommodation, food etc.

I won't be going too long a trip. (Would be good though).

I was very tempted.... It's something I have always wanted to do.... Sent in for all the info when it was first announced. Still am tempted but doing the maths not sure if I can justify it.....

With the entry fees, accommodation, additional equipment and fuel looking at well over 3k........ But as has been said could be the trip of a lifetime

I'm with yo Paul, sounds a great trip, but I don't really see what the entry fee is for - I'd rather do a trip round Mallorca, Spain could probably do it in 10 days towing from the UK and back, and better weather!

Yep it sure is. I'm not sure if I can do it yet, but thinking about it. Money is a biggy, as you say it would £3k between 2 of you.

For anyone taking part in this - make sure you find out the answer to this question - I did the RIB International Round Scotland back in 08 and got shag all for our entry fee - not even a sticker
