Welcoming the fleet to Cork

I went out to meet the fleet and tried to get a few photos as they arrived in after a really long run. They blasted past me enjoying the fianl furlong and I suspect the imagined smell of a hot meal in Crosshaven

Most people were in great spirits after some good weather and some fantastic sights like the Skelligs, The Bull and of course the incredible Fastnet Rock. Hopefully the pix will give you a feel for the day and here's hoping they enjoy some good weather for the final leg(s).

Well done Trevor and Rik - that is some amazing feat you pulled off there. I'm not sure I'd have done it in Blue Ray, let alone anything smaller!

And that's that then!! Done and dusted/drenched.......
To announce in the middle of winter that yourself and family are going to go completely around Ireland 'anticlockwise' on a certain date in July,in a small RIB,with no trailering or short-cuts and actually do it is one a hell of an achievement, well done.
From the mountain of data that was collected, should make for a very interesting story.............

and more thanks..

while I am thanking peeps, have to give special thanks to Stu
(RogueWave) for taking over the helm of Merlin on the two days
I couldnt drive anymore due to my back injury.
The second of those days involved my transfer to Top Hat mid leg, and he
did a great job on that day.

OK folks, firstly well done to all who took part, sounds like you had an amazing adventure. I was wondering whether there has been any talk of the event being repeated next year? I know its still early days as the paint is still drying on the 2013 event, but has there been any discussion or hearsay ?
