Maybe not a good comparison but the Army do the refuelling for the Scottish Six Day Trials every year. It's never been an issue.

if they could do that ...will be awesome ! we could start a thread to see if it s still possible to organize nice challenhe as RB, venture cup, Rib challenge coz to be honest all of them had to be cancelled and i can't understand why authorities are killing all those events where people are booking hotels, pubs, etc ....

On the Red Sea Rib Rally they were filling petrol boats from a rusty bowser (open top) and a hose that had no tap, you had to fold it in half when you had enough and pass the hose to the next guy .............. no-one died or caught fire!

Its not only H+S But HMRC and Weights and Measures that cause the problem. The only way around it is to group purchase all the fuel you need as one transaction. I remember organising 2500 ltrs in Scotland one year and sending the boats to a little inlet where the fuel was put in by the "Second" some won and some lost but everyone got thier fuel.Alan P

In scrabster we got aviation fuel from a bowser across the beach, haven't a clue where it came from but the boat ran well on it

That doesn't really make it a good though idea does it? After all some people don't use kill cords and haven't died yet, but few people here would suggest that it's a good way to operate.

I reckon that support crews with trailers is probably the best way to do it. It's not as straightforward as fueling at the quayside, but at least you can get supermarket prices

It might take a quite few people in your support crew to get enough fuel together for round Britain though

I was thinking of boat trailers rather than trailers full of 5 litre fuel cans!
