Room for a little un

Hi just registed on the forum dont have a rib but I have a 4.2 Zodiac Futura with 25hp Mariner. I use it mainly for touring, pile in the camping gear, food, water and beer for a week and go to remote scottish islands wild camping on the beaches. Just wondered if there are any more who enjoy the exploring side more than the size thing. Just got back from a great week going around Raasay & Rona off the Isle of Skye, only had 1 day of rain
This is a link to the sort of thing I mean. It would be good to here from anyone interested in doing the same sort of thing

We do a lot of camping over here Zodman... It's during these trips that I really miss my old Futura (I had a Mariner 40 on mine.. rocket powered!) My biggest source of "stress" on these trips is the lack of sheltered mooring spots, so I sleep with one eye open all night, watching the weather, which can change suddenly.

With the Futura, I just dragged the boat up on the shore... and slept like a baby.

On the other hand, if the weather does turn on us, I love the Hurricane for hauling arse back in... usually we are between 25 and 45 miles out.... and it's nice to have a more comfortable ride back in...

Yes Stoo the inflatables are pretty easy to haul about out of the water and you can get to the more secluded beaches and coves, you are limited to inshore water but around the scottish western isles you are never to far from a safe haven and you need them up there the weather can change without warning

zodiacman, if only you were on here before you left...you were just around the corner from Mull and they have a grass airstrip on it - with a hotel called Glenforsa Lodge - my buddy Brendan Walsh owns it, and he used to look after Dave Gilmours Gnat fighter jet and Mustang @ North Weald in Essex, he sold his big house and bought the hotel on mull - there are loads of pictures in the bar which overlooks the sound of Mull of Dave G, Brendan, Gary Numan etc

Do you fancy another trip up in October????

Anybody else fancy it???
