I'd love to - maybe age would be a problem being only 18 but it'd be great to fill my days off of uni

Why is this being asked anyway, don't suppose the offers up?

Currently crew for a rescue service and live some distance away from the sea.

If my situation was to change e.g. move back down to Cornwall to harass my family, then i'd probably look into either offering myself up as a volunteer or look into going into the Coastguard.

For now, happy to do what I can if and when I can.

Lifeboat crew

Would also join if I lived close enough to a station. I think these guys do a great job.

Did formerly join an inshore lifeboat for a short period but then moved so that was the end of that.

One of the best things i have ever done. been on an RNLI inshore boat for 6 years 2 as a helmsman every aspect is good from the guys you are on the crew with to helping out in ANYWAY you can.

There is no better feeling in the world to come back to the station knowing that you have just saved a life.

I'd like to join some day, hopefully plan on moving somewhere closer to the sea, currently no use in West London, not close enough even to the London base.

Doug - drop me a note and come down and meet us at Hamble! We run a rota for weekend cover when the duty crew are on station all day, currently we have crew from well outside the patch because we and they can plan availability. Your knowledge would be very useful!
