RNLI open day

Well I went along to Poole on Sunday & am very impressed ! Saw for the first time the RIB capsize drill in thier pool & went on all the various boats they had.

They ( and ALL the various rescue services ) do a great job. And a decent new memorial , understated but impressive - like the crews.

Interesting to see a BIG hole in the side of one of the Severn class where it was hit by a fishing boat !

They seemed to have D class scattered all over the place, everywhere you looked another one !

Any one else go ????

Pete

Been on a course at the College, its an impressive place.
By building the college the RNLI saved £1,000,000 a year purely on accomadation fees that were incurred by using hotels and B&B's on the IOW.

If anyone wants to see a capsize drill from Sunday I have uploaded a video here . It starts slowly but soon picks up. It was filmed with 1 camera in 2 sessions so its not perfect.
