River Yar (Yarmouth)

Has anyone ventured beyond the swing bridge at Yarmouth? Trying to find out if there are any visitors’ berths (walk ashore) on the east side of the river. I can see on the chart there are some pontoons but can’t find any info on them.
Thanks
L

East side pontoons are under the harbours jurisdiction and most if not all used by local boats. There are visitor spaces in the Yar yard on the western bank, give Jamie a call on 01983 761000 - nice chap and lovely surroundings. Obviously the harbour prior to the river / bridge has lots of mooring options.

Thanks Lee. We’re staying a stones throw from some pontoons on the east side so it would be ideal if a visitors berth were available there. If not, we’ll just book into the harbour.

Lisiliou, where are you staying?

We would love to have night out in Yarmouth, it would be nice to know of somewhere nice to stay for us and somewhere safe to leave the Rib.

Many thanks.

Hi, since getting the RIB, we’ve discovered Airbnb & we’re using it again this time around.
The place we’re staying is on Mill Rd which is a short walk from the Harbour & the local eateries etc. It also backs onto the estuary & has access to it via the back garden.
Not stayed at this one before but I’ll let you know if it was any good so you can look it up.
