Ripped Off!

My Avon Searider SR 4.7 advert has been ripped off and it's now on gumtree

This is not my advert, nor would I ever sell it for £2900 !!!

Please can you report this add via the gumtree website as a fraudulent advert as maybe they will take notice if they have several reports.

My add is on Ribnet, B&O and now Ebay for £5750.

Is there's way to watermark the picture/image file with something so it is clear when the add was placed and on which site etc...?

Alex, there is an app called clear watermark for iPhone, I use that quite a lot. If you don't have an iPhone email pics to me, I'll do them and send them back.

So if you watermark with your phone number or something...would that deter the scammers from copying the pic?

I just tried to email said theiving sods about 'thier' SR and got the following instant reply from Gumtree ;

Hi there,

Our Customer Services team have noticed something suspicious about someone you've been talking to on Gumtree.

The user who posted the ad 'Avon Searider SR4.7 Rib Yamaha 70hp outboard' has been reported for fraud, so if you are still in contact with the user, we'd recommend you don't go any further with your transaction.

Whisper- I did some more checks on ebay against Gumtree and we have at least four maybe five I can see copied and at stupid prices- Surely GUMTREE have a duty to look at the ads and contact details as they must be similar and then report as conspiracy to defraud us. Oops back to police again

We must be touching just the surface and gives all of us a warning to search our boats via search engines to see if captured to sell this way. I have emailed the ones I can see via e bay to warn them as well as reporting each one on Gumtree. Thieving XXXXXXs
