roofs...

Hiya.
Have found some at IBS: roof . Select something from drop down, then search the page for SUN CANOPIES. Not sure how they would behave at speed though
Hope this helps.
Andy.

So, what has that got to do with the price of a chicken, curry and chips?

I seem to remember seeing the pic that JAHNO posted as part of an information package for a competitive rib event somewhere in the Middle East, if you find that site you may be able to get some info from there.

I knew I'd seen them before! Check out the NEWS section of RIBnet and towards the bottom is the info, including a contact e-mail for the event's organiser, they were a matched set of boats rigged for the event.

Jahno, there are quite a few companies here in Greece that tailor make such canopies for RIBs.

I have made one for my RIB. I have it on at all times and I can tell you that it behaves very well at high speeds too.

I can also easily attach a second bit and transform the RIB into a 'room' where you can actually sleep at night.

Jahno,
What I mean by sun canopy is the front bit (like in Batfalcon's boat). The bit that starts from the front part of the boat and stops just before the console. This behaves very well at high speeds.

The other bit of the setup (the one that starts from over the console) and reaches the back part of the boat I have never used but if you are interested I know some companies here in Greece that tailor make them.

Guys, Nadia,

I sure want to come over to Cardiff, but ...... That's why I asked Alan P some days ago if he is going to cross Med for the trip. Any way. My thoughts will be there with you. Drink some beers for us who can't be there (2 or 3 cases will do the job).
Now for the canopy thing you were talking about:
All these models are tailor made. Only some boat builders offer tents like the ones you want, specialy made for specific models.
So the rest of us who aren't so lucky, have to make them ourselves. It took aslmost 4 months to complete the tents myself. At the picture above you must "add" 4 more pieces with your imagination to have it completed. One at each side of the "higher" roof.
The pieces for both sides have zippers at the upper edge and they extend to the lower rubber rail of the boat. The aslo have windows with mosquito net.
The front one has zippers attached all around and maches with the upper, the lower one and the pieces at both sides. It also has windows with mosquito net.
Also the one at the back maches with the upper one, the left and the right "wall". It aslo has got the same type of window plus a door.
When all items are zipped together you've got a room large enough to accomodate 4 people, cool during hot summer nights (remember the mosquito nets).
Unfortunately I haven't got any picture like the one I described. I'll post one as soon as I get one.
