Easy for him to say that itís another matter whether it is true or not What weight is of the Cobra when compared to the boat he is trying to sell
I think more of an issue would be hull shape, a deep V will take longer to get on the plane (and pull up skiers) than a shallow V Des

The problem you will have with some ribs is simply the height of the wake. For mono-skiing I have to really brace myself going across the wake. Wake-boarding is brilliant with current set-up! I do not think 'hole-shot' (as the yanks say) is the issue, rather the inherent deep V which is not ideal for skiing, you could do better with a flatter hull - IMO.

i ski and wakeboard fine on our rib, wake is a bit small though so i spose no good for jumping

As someone who works where they sell sports boats, but own a RIB, I see no reason for the 7.5m Cobra to be any heavier than an equivalant sized sports boat (which would probably have an inboard motor anyway). I have skied behind my old 6.5m Ribtec fine and a few other RIBS, plus behind some sports boats and there is really no difference in pull out. If it is slightly slugish onto the plane you could always just prop it down to allow for better acceleration, but I doubt that would really be neccessary.

Wakeboardin behind ares is easy on pull up with about 6 ppl in the boat full tank of fuel and about 5 wakeboards n god know wot ova crap. so i recon your pick up will be much quicker.

I had a 7.5 Cobra and can confirm that with a 225 four stroke 6 up and one in the water you can with ease pull a mono skier as for the weight what would the differance be been a hard boat and rib of this size ?

Thanks Jeff That was with 5 adults on board and a 21" prop too.

If I had more people all I would need to do is drop down to a 19" prop...
