RIbs for transporting goods

Hi,
I have not posted for some time as I have been busy setting up a new business (the crisis bites still!). My question is: are there ribs around which can be used for transport? Suppose it would have to be pretty big as I woldn't want to make longish trips for a box of bananas.

Cheers,
cuttle

Crompton specialised in that market!

I think you'll need to narrow down what you want to carry, does it need to be kept dry etc. You might also want to think about how you will load/unload it...

Thanks Polwart,

It has to be kept dry, yes. Unloading and loading is less of a problem.
Cheers,
cuttle

It seems to me

that Crompton Marine (UK) do not have a website, or even an e-mail. Can someone correct me on this one?
Thanks,
cuttle

I think you'll find that Crompton Marine are no longer trading, and that their former directors can be contacted via HM Prison Service.

However, I believe Crompton Marine's moulds went elsewhere so you may be able to find one built by someone else.

My Avon 8.4 has space for 2 pallets and can carry 2.5 tonns at 30 knots cruisng 55lph derv

my understanding was the directors of Crompton were aquitted? Rush certainly was, I think Davison was in Spain on bail and George pleaded guilty to Money Laundering ( having a couple of meg under the mattres does take a bit of explaining, I guess a good month at spread beting might cover it) But I'm unsure whether or not she was a Director or Davisons squeeze (crimbo term)

Paul Tilley (TIDEL) tubes some mighty rib hulls which I believe are Crompton

There was a guy on here who was building large Carsons that looked like they could carry cargo.

A Halmatic artic could carry cargo specially the 28 footer

or you could aways have a custom Built Ribworker

what kinda size and weight loads are you thinking about carrying?

I also think the manufactures of Delta, Avon, MST, Halmatic and Oceandynamics would have a problem with mribs clai to be the strongest around one of the strongest would be better wording

Hi Rogue Wave

Thanks for your post.

I would be transporting crates, probably on pallets. Probably more than two; more nearer five to be cost efficient.

Can you send me a photo of your Avon 8.4?

I shall look at the other suggestions

Cheers,

Cuttle.

I like that.

Wouldn't mind one, either. Just how much stuff can you get onto two pallets?
