Engines / Trolling

Another question - Will my engine get all "oiled up" if I troll at about 4 knots or so for Bass all day? Are thre any better or worse engines in that respect?

I am not too worried about economy/consumption (apart from the usual green issues of course ;-) ) but reliability and no or few hassles when I do go out is important. I don't think I will be going that far that fast that consumption is going to be an issue as I will probably use less fuel than most ribers.

A friend of mine was saying that two strokes are not manufactured any more and I believe they are not so good for running as slow speeds?

(Great forum by the way and thanks for all the replies and tips and advice.)

Will

Old technology 2 strokes are no longer generally available to the public in Europe, but new modern Direct Injection 2 strokes like the Etec are available. These won't oil up at trolling speed - they are built with US fishing market in mind.

Whilst trolling noise is generally an issue. I would recommend Suzuki and Yamaha 4-strokes.
