Actually, probably more than is feasable to buy unless you've got access to a used brake fluid disposal tank.

However, I suspect anything highly corrosive dissolved in water might do the job if you chucked a full bottle of dryfuel in there with it-just make sure it doesn't react with petrol or dryfuel first.

quite like the idea of contaminated fuel, though at the cost of a tank each time, that in itself would be costly.....and they probably put it in a nicked car anyway.

As for not worth the police doing anything. One weekend saw 11 boats done over and one lost a large generator that was screwed on deck worth thousands. It isnt just petty criminals!!

but I assume you have no way to predict when theft will occur? So how do you suggest that the police respond?

Paul, you and everyone else need to look closer to home and have a good think before you look for un known people stealing from your boats. Maybe you'll soon work out who it is.
As you say, petty thieves don't rob fixed down hardware and I doubt would own a boat big enough to make away with it.
I expect the people doing it could well be known to you or others by sight at least.

Yeah tell the fella who owned the Gen that Franks got his scalextric running off it. He had to tune it up a bit but it's sorted now.

Neighbours are glad their electric bill isn't as much this month though
