Which other RIBs were in the running before you decided on a Ribquest?

intertesting thread,i bought a new ribquest 5.8 with suzuki df90 ,in 2006.been really pleased with it
nothing broken or fallen off, very capable rib, mainly used in the med sometimes on some long runs in very big seas.
only problem now is its a bit small for a full day out with a growing family of 6 aboard so maybe looking to upsize to a 7m something.
tried the full range of ribcrafts could not tell difference in any way that mattered between ribcraft and ribquest size for size.

I own a Ribcraft and have also owned Zodiacs and Avons. I have never seen a Ribquest or heard of them, thats the problem IMO.

What price will you get when you come to re-sell? How long will building "Good ribs" last and what reputation have they got, especially after the original company went tits up.

Ps I am not biased in anyway

I spoke to them about the 4.8 and were really helpful, I think Eurocraft make the tubes.
The site could do with a pricelist on though!

Ive had a 5.8 since 2006 which was one of the originals from Manchester, its coded and has been used as a back up boat for the last 3 years, the console and twin jockey seats were very poor quality and cracked after very little use, the hull/transom was supposedly rated to 150hp we fitted a Honda 135 etec and found that with less than 3 people the hull tends to twist, they could only get better !!!!

Trell: Good of you to post an honest opinion on your experience of the boat, albeit an unsatisfactory one.

Wasn't the original company going down the pans in 2006? If Ribquest has been taken over by new owners I can't see how you could compare a pre 2007 RIBquest with a new one.

IMHO I think the new owners might have considered a new name for the company so that confusions like this might not arise.

CLJ,
Slightly off topic, what sort of performance do you get with that setup?
