Hi guys,

Just a quick question, if I were to purchase a Ribeye rib would I have to buy it with a Yamaha outboard or can I choose my own brand etc. The reason I ask this question if that it says nothing about it on there website apart from, 'Yamaha, the only choice'!

Thanks

From my knowledge the purchase of new Ribeye has the link to Yamaha if bought direct, if you used one of its dealers you may have a choice. Is there a reason for thinking away from Yamaha? Never been a problem and warranty seems to support us well.

Call them and tell them the size your interested in as most 6m up are fitted at their base in Dartmouth.

May I ask why you've opted for a Ribeye? Were any other manufactures on the short list?

As far as I'm aware, even if you buy from a dealer it gets fitted out at Dartmouth. I may be wrong. In any case, I don't believe you can buy a new one without a Yammie. The ones you see on the second hand market are presumably where people have chosen to re-engine at some point.

Thanks guys, think I might look into the Ribcraft 750 sport, I think it would probably suit me a bit better than the Ribeye s650!

Eh? How come you've lurched from Ribeye to Ribcraft? Are you plucking names out of a hat? Have another go, you might want a Bombardino next. ;-)

What a well thought out and civil reply.

So what has the RC got what the Ribeye hasn't to suit your requirements then if you don't mind me asking ??

It can have more horse power and can have a twin outboard setup!!!!! And I were being really picky I slightly prefer the console, seating and overall shape! (That stuff though doesn't really matter though! ) Also I need it for tow tubing etc. and the ribeye don't really meet that need

So, it would appear that the Ribeye didn't really fit the bill at all. Now that you've looked at two ribs, are you absolutely sure that the RC is exactly what you require? Give me a shout if you also need a car or a house or anything actually.
