I think you like to have it both ways - dissing Ribeye and Ribeye owners at every turnabout (and say you're just joking if challenged) but have a fit every time Osprey are treated with less than Total Respect.

Ironically, I think that by taking the matter to almost stalker-like levels over a period of several years, you have actually made people look more favourably at Ribeye, on the grounds that they couldn't be THAT bad.

So much so that you've almost handed a "win" to the Construct

Ribeye Envy

I'm having a few conflicting emotions here at the moment. Giggling at Mollers, obviously, but also rather jealous of TLS and the Blackened Ribeye with all the Trimmings - yum! That and beginning to worry that I should blag something a little more modest for Easdale next year - wouldn't want to appear Privileged in Public. Bit of a lightning rod that...

Or maybe Ribeye have started building smart boats?

As for the "fits"? Remind me.

Oddly, haven't heard so much Ribeye positivity from your direction over the last five years., but you're down with the hommies now.
Amazing to think that peeps are buying Ribeyes by virtue of my comments.

You made them do it Mollers. Take a bow

Actually, I was thinking about just that notion earlier. I think a lot has happened in the industry generally since the Construct and you had the big kick off. Looking at most "brands" there is a huge improvement in quality of build and looks. Good Lord, even Ospreys aren't supplied in a box with a wee tube of glue any more...

Reckon their accountant may've had a little input.

Nonsense, great boats, only this week I was trying to sell one on

I generally don't recommend boats and almost never say that one is "the best". I mean, what's the point? I don't know and I couldn't prove it if I did.

Different with Redbay of course - as they're special

RIBase
FWIW.

I don't dislike Ribeyes. They're a bit Ford Mondeo nicey nicey shiney spangley for my taste, even though I too have blue stripes on my seats now. However, I don't think they're bad boats at all and there's some really nice design touches on them.

If I was pushed to comment on them negatively, it'd be about the majority (NOT all) of the type of people I've seen using them.
They've been usually overloaded,no lifejackets/killcords used and with ringos/skis/spacehoppers/gimp suits (though I think that might have been Twim) etc strapped to the A-frame and kids dangling their legs over the side. It's also been the one I've found tied up to my lifelines more often than any other make, which says quite a lot too.

TLS's Ribeye is something else. I want it. I want it with the kind of urgency I'd normally reserve for a night with Keira Knightly in a padded room and a 50 gallon drum of baby oil.
