RIBEX vs SPORTS BOAT AND RIB

Just a quick question for all you Rib owners

What Rib boat show did you visit last year Ribex, Sports Boat and Rib show or both?

Your answers would be highly useful, not just to Rib Shop but I am sure to all the other trade members on the forum.

Thank you in advance.

Sports Boat and Rib but was not very impressed at all and would probably not bother going again unless I were in the area.

Went to RIBEX last year, but found the dry arena disappointing for sales of general chandlery, etc. The marina, on the other hand was great, with lots of opportunity to try out different RIBs.
Will probably go again in 2007, as it's a good venue for meeting other folk and a great base for spinning around the Solent.

RIBEX

Agree with Downhilldai that lack of exhibitors on dry land is something HMS and Harvey needs to attract exhibitors, the show in Exmouth I recall was opposite a lot more indoor stands but lack of RIB´s although had a nice ride on Zodiac Hurricane 9 metre alu RIB powered by twin large Evinrude´s

Hope they will fill the land space this year

Sports boat and rib was good for the on water demos etc. Went to Ribex year before last and wasn't massily impressed. Out of the two I prefer SB&R.

Only been to RIBEX so can't really comment other than to agree with the comments about the dry arena.

A good show on the water, just a shame it can't be matched on the land.

Having been to both ,Ribx was my choice but i agree that the dry area needs
sorting and better signs for ribs ariving by water to where to berth,

London Excel

Excel last year was good - reasonable number of Ribs & inflatables + manufacturers like Garmin, Honda + loads of Chandlers.
I'm going on Thurs 11th Jan - £6 after 4pm, open till 9pm.

OK, so may interests may vary from some, but for any of the commercial guys on here the best show by far is Seawork (www.seawork.com). They have a specific rib section (amongst others) and if you're after bombproof kit, well worth a visit.

Missed Ribex last year, but heading to LIBS this weekend.

SB&R was OK for some of the on-water entertainment for the youngsters. Didn't seem to be the footfall there could have been. No idea how well the trade stands did but it didn't look too exciting for them (Sunday pm). I got the impression that many people were there just to have a mooch around rather than buying a boat or bits for one.

RibEx somehow felt better overall and if I were looking at the two events for a stand would probably go for that (depending on relative costs). Felt like there were more boats on display at RibEx? Maybe just more interesting ones.
