Ribex BananaShark Competition!

I have 2 VIP tickets to give away for Ribex - they entitle you to entry on all 3 days of the show!

To win these tickets you need to get all of the following right:

A) How big is the hull (the fibreglass bit only) of our new concept boat that will be at the show?

B) What is the overall length of this boat?

C) What is the power plant (HP and engine size)?

D) What is the drive used?

Good luck everyone!

ps. I also have some of the half price tickets - they will be awarded totally at random for imaginative, witty or very close entries

Hi Tim,

We will have both the 770 with a Verado 250 on it and the new "Concept boat"!

Going to take any guesses?

By the way there is no limit of entries for this one!

Taking a wild stab in the dark, and guessing that Kitten has made a model!

3 feet long for the fibreglass
3 feet and a bit with the tube/engine

1hp ethanol engine, with a prop and rudder to drive it

bound to be way off

RIBase
1) 200m long,

2) Depends who's measuring it,

3)Powered by a hot air gas turbine from a large number of caged ribnetters discussing 4x4s and whether or not Codprawn actually exists,

4) Large plastic paddles.

Some interesting theories ............. Kitten building another model? Well he may well be but this is a proper RIB capable of carrying at least 5 passengers!

Funny you should say that - we made a pair of model Phantom 19's for the crew of the Gibraltan OCR boat that we made with brushless outboards that go very well indeed - we might bring one to Cowes if we have time! Kitten has a slightly unruly twin motor one which needs full concentration!

This new boat has been fairly secret and there is certainly no official information or clues on our website, but I can tell you it's smaller than the previous models and an even bigger clue - it isn't an outboard!

Not sure if any of that helps really!

Am I right in thinking that it's based on the Salcombe Flyer hull? If it's an inboard, I'm thinking it'll be the Flyer 530 model, so:

1. 5.3 metres of hull length
2. Lets say 40cm of tube overhang at the rear and 30cm at the front, so 6.0 metres total length
3. Small sterndrive, so either the Mercruiser Vazer or the 120 bhp diesel.

How'd I do?

Getting very close ...........

1. Wrong
2. correct
3. right engine wrong drive!

The heritage is very close as well!

1. 5.5 metres of hull length
2. 6.0 metres total length
3. Mercruiser Vazer and Jet drive
