Ribex

Hi All

Having not made it to Ribex last year, could anyone advise me if it is feasible to go the event by water and tie up alongside there, or is it such a hassle that by road is much easier.

Hi Graeme

I've no idea as to the answer for your question, but I've just had a look at the Rib International site and details of 'how to get to ribex': http://www.ribmagazine.com/index.htm . Strangely enough (considering it is a boat show on water) there is no mention of getting there by boat!

Hi Keith

I had seen that - and also noted the lack of mention of berths etc for visitors by water.

Not sure if the space will be so tight as they dont want us to arrive by water - or if they just missed it off.

Hi Graeme

From some of the comments about RIB manufacturers on other threads, perhaps they don't really want people who already have RIBs getting in the way.

You know, at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC (for which Black Hart Productions has a good contract) they actually encourage motorcyclists by paying the NEC for a car park dedicated for motorcycles, so that if you come on a motorcycle you can park for FREE. After all it is a MOTORCYCLE show.

RIBEX take note!

I believe RIBEX is held in the Ocean Village Marina. You could ask them. It's easy to get to but how many "parking" spaces remain during the event, I dunno.
You could e-mail
ribex@ribmagazine.com

Also.....
could we do a "I will be at RIBEX on ....day" and some of us meet up?
Maybe even with one of Keiths badges?
I plan to go (by road) on the Friday as I am leading the S/W Cruise from Plymouth on the Saturday and Sunday.

I have been to every RIBEX so far (dubious honour I know..) and have come across from Jersey in my RIB every time barring once. Berths at Ocean Village are no problem at all, the staff are most helpful and will always fit you in somewhere. My opinion is to definitely arrive by RIB as you can go for a spin when it gets a bit tedious, aslo compare your boat to others whilst you are there.

Nadia
As I have said, I will be there on the Friday (the 17th).
Now I don't want to be accused of offering sweeties to little girls, but.....I just happen to have a second (FREE) ticket....

If you get accused of offering I will get accused of accepting - I am not shy about taking sweeties from anyone! and so in public as well.
Thanks,
Friday the 17th May then.

Can't definately say yes yet, will depend on where SOC is and if I can do everything before to get a day off!

Will keep in touch.
Thanks
Nadia

Thre Marina I use is just doen the river from Ocean Village about 500 yards and has a load of parking space, I can probably find out if you can moor there for the weekend, I f so it will be a lot cheaper as this marina costs about 50% ofthe cost of Ocean Village. It is also the new home of Ribtec.
