Went yesterday, took the family and had a good day. I agree with others though it was a bit thin compared to other years.

We went on Sunday for the first time, thought the amount of ribs at the show was good and have chosen the rib I want if I ever pick the magic 6 numbers on a Saturday !!!!
I was hoping for more accessory stands for bits and bobs.
Got to the show with Fun On The Water from Portsmouth, thats the only way to go...
Thanks to the RYA for a great trip out, a bit cold to get that wet, but great fun.
All in all a good day

I attended on the Friday, took my cobra 7.5M across from poole, bit rough on the way but trip back was smoother. I thought it was a bit thin this year, no huntons, no scorpions etc, took a visitor spot at sheppards wharf marina which was very handy, cheap and less hasle than rafting. Left about 3pm got back to poole cobbs quay about 4.30pm, yes was doing between 35 and 42 knots most of way back, yee haa

Went I got back to Poole area I approached via the point off old harry rocks heading for the main channel and was awarded with the site of about 20 dolphins jumping around in the main channel.

We came across from Hamble - first time visitors to this show. Have to say we were disappointed at the small number of stands. looking at the ribs on display I agree with some of the other visitors, not much interest shown by some of the manufacturers. For what it was, it was an expensive day out! I think that unless we have a good reason to go we'll give it a miss in the future. It was interesting that on the organisers website they didn't have a list of exhibitors prior to the show, some feeble excuse that there were lots of late takers! More like they didn't want folk to see there were not many takers.

It was defintiely quite a bit thinner than previous years......
It will be interesting to see how the SB&R show compares in a couple of weeks....

I also thought it was frustrating that no exhibitors were posted prior to the event. It was suggested (perhaps on another thread) that buyers should make appointments to see a Rib; bit tricky when you don't know who is going to be at the event.

It made it feel all rather amateur - and yet the industry is of a moderate size. It could be significantly enhanced/improved.

but if you were seriously considering brand X you could just call them and ask if they are going to be there... presumably you have a short list of 3 or 4 in anyone size/style/price band that you would be considering - so no great chore. And if they are not going you can still discuss how/when you can see and trial a boat.

Golly it's hard work with you isn't it?!

I have a whole list of boats I'd like to see - I checked out the Ribex site and there were no exhibitors listed when I checked. I didn't see your post beforehand. So I kind of thought the manufacturers might be a little more communicative at the event, apart from Ribeye, they weren't.

I'm different to you, when I buy toys, I'm not in the habit of phoning manufacturers to make appointments. If I see it and like it, I buy it. It's probably why I have lots of toys.
