A bit premature I know, but when RIBEX is on in cowes in May can you still get moored up in the main marina or is it closed off to all but exhibitors?

Visitors by RIB:
We are delighted to welcome visitors arriving by RIB. Provision has been made for a good supply of Visitors day berthing. These will be allocated on a first come first served basis at a cost of £12 which includes berthing for one boat and entrance to the show for the skipper. Other crew members will need to pay the regular ticket entrance amount at the show entrance. Skippers should be willing to raft against other RIBs thus maximizing space available to visitors.

From what I recall most RIBs are pushed to the southern side of the Marina hosting the event and just rafted up higgledy piggledy. that is unless you have an Uber RIB then you get to moor in the main area.
I get the feeling any RIB is welcome and will be accomodated you just need to be free with your rope work.

Tim, for sure "Nautibouy" will be at the show and whichever demo rib I will have at the time or perhaps another Parker 900Baltic but with twin diesel. Closer the time will have a better idea.

I have booked space for 2 ribs and have even booked the accomodation at the Fountain Inn

that is the good thing about Ribex a boat show on the water. You have the chance to test a number of ribs and pick the one which suits you most

We will be there again next year demoing for Scorpion. We asked for something different this year & Graham is obliging with an 8.5 stepped hull with tapered tubes and the new Mercury 300 xs.

What is it with the stepped hulls? Having gone from stepped to normal I just cannot see why you would bother. Advantage is its a little quicker in the right water and mine was a quite efficient on fuel consumption, but apart from that its all compromises? My new boat is so much better in everyday circumstances and makes me ask the question, why?

Good question Ollie,

Having driven both types I prefer the non stepped version. I guess that at the extreme - and as you say in the right conditions - the stepped hull may be a few knts faster.

One could also question the use of tapered tubes.

It all comes down to customer desire at the end of the day.

The Dutch guys wil be there also again just like the last 2 years, i would like to buy a new revenger but that would not work out with the factory!!
so i take my old yellow 27 revenger with a brand new 300XS on the back!! to cowes next year, and hope that i can buy a new 29 RIB. from one of you.

What do I hear now? ;-) I remember me last years blue stepped hull Rev 29 with the twin E-tec 250's... Sake didn't want to come out anymore haha

We had a great time last year on the ribex and it was a beautiful trip from Amsterdam to Cowes and visa verca! Very pleasant people and glorious ribs! Hope to be there also next year.

Hello to you all,

It's 2007 know at is only 18 weeks to the ribex!

The plan still exists to travel from Ijmuiden (Holland) to Cowes and back, just to visit the Ribex. We're planning to make the cross with two or three ribs. Danny with the black Osprey XR24 and Sake with the yellow Revenger, and crew offcourse.
I was wondering if anyone else is planning to sail more than 200nm to visit the ribex2007?
