RIBCRAFT 600S, 650S - new leisure models

Based on feedback from RIBCRAFT (thanks Dave for contact info) these are NEW models. Lighter newer materials and internal moulding.

Looks good for me. My taste and my dream setup:

Ribcraft 600S - Ribcraft RIBS , Rigid Inflatable Boats - Yeovil, Somerset, UK

Ribcraft 650S - Ribcraft RIBS , Rigid Inflatable Boats - Yeovil, Somerset, UK

It looks like RIBCRAFT is doing good - a lot of orders so first new model avaiable August 2018 ...

RIB.net members love RIBCRAFT maybe not like these boats (lighter, moulded, ...) but setup is perfect for my needs. Description in the links is wrong the same goes for technical data for 650.

If they have any DEMO will buy ticket to UK and look/test and maybe buy ...

Trying to capture the ribeye sales by looks of it.

Not my cup of tea but I'm sure it will sell well given name on side of it. Hopefully they don't do what Avon done with the adventure range as no one seemed to like them.....I liked mine though as it was used within its limits.

Ribcraft did make a sport model similar looking to these before but I've only ever seen one myself.

Wonder what hulls they are using on these. The old sport I seen was a 6.4 with a bespoke hull if memory serves. Wonder if they have dusted it off to make these with tweaks.

as someone interest in the 545 and 585 (was originally looking up to 7.5m) interesting development

So for the seasoned veterans* of ribbing amongst you what would you say would be the pros and cons of both approached (professional versus leisure range in RC parlance)

IMO Ribcraft have built their high reputation (in a very competitive Market) on the Commercial nature ...Quality Design/Seakeeping attributes of the models we all know and a lot of us love (Like the 545 and 585 Rick W mentions )...this coupled with ..In house "Customisable" build ...to cater for the clients specifications..personal needs and preferences in layouts/configerations/power plant/type ect ect.
...Couple this with Quality materials and Good Workmanship and there's no denying its made them one of the Top choices for Commercial/Govenment/Military/Police as well as for serious Boaters or people who just want the reassurance of a Proper Sea Going Craft.
Time will tell if the new "Leisure" Range will a be new "Added string" to the Ribcraft "Bow"....or a Cul de sac..either way extended choice seems to be the Buzzword in all kinds of fields these days.
Personally I'd stick to what I have and Know..But I look forward to seeing how they go and compare....
I for one wish them well

If you are OK with weight of the PRO series go for them.

If you like design of new RIBCRAFT leisure boats you can wait for them and test.

I'm looking for light 6m - 6,5m RIB in new technology still good at the Sea so I'm curious how much weight new 600S,650s and how they perform.

I like the design also - my taste and needs - ok no teak, just some anti slip grey material be enough for me.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

They also mentioned that it be new technology - no plywood - infusion, newer material - I like such invention - of course not sure how they perform compare to PRO. I hope performance be the same or better like competition (Ribeye, RIB-X ... leisure market)

Look at my first post Description is wrong.

Even technical data for 650S are wrong - they are the same like for 600S

I suppose that 600S measure 6m and 650S measure 6,5m ...

It looks like they prefer to post CAD drawing. If I remember first boat be available at August so better wait than read about not existing boats

Ah, missed that! Yes I would have assumed 6 and 6.5m too.

Looks nice enough if you like that sort of thing but car-wash rear seating and bulky moulded transoms that put the rotavator out of reach are not really what I would want, and the only place I want a wooden floor is in my house, so I think I'd stick with the original commercial models.

You can stay on this molded rear I did that many times.
A-frame helps in that.

For me this molding is important

1. Big rear locker for 5 people family 5 x (fins, masks, neoprene suits, clothes for change including shoes if we go to walk and discover something)

2. I can close this locker. Greece is safe but it better to keep things close. Plus it is not easy access to unmount engine.

3. 3 teenagers love to seat on rear coach. Big console and my person covers them from the wind

My dream setup is 4 jockey seats and rear couch.
OK if it is "dream" - big console, 2 jockeys with suspension, 2 normal with lockers and rear bench and molded rear building max possible locker

re point No2....battery powered chainsaw....engine and transom off....job done.

i know someone who had a transom cut off to steal their volvo duoprop outdrive

i don't know about this model but ribcraft will fit suspension seats if you want when they build normal models, might be a bit cheaper as you save money not fitting the expensive ribcraft seats in first place to offset it.

you must carry a lot of stuff with you to need so much space....something a standard ribcraft sucks at IMO. i can barely get my shoes in my seats due to the narrow opening to make them watertight.

I think - delay in built first models so hope to see up to date website after 5-6 months. Maybe it is better to show nothing compare to CAD drawing and wrong description.

Winter this year Ribcraft sent me price list even. 6.5 was failrly valuated.
Last message was that they are working on molding and be ready for August 2018. On the website they vanished also so smaller leisure is 7,5m now.
