Ribb'n in Nottingham ?

Hi,

After a break of a few years I am now back into the rib scene. Can anyone suggest a location in the East Midlands that I can use for rib use. i.e. over 5mph ! just to get my son in to basic boat driving, prior to hitting (not literally) the South Coast this summer.

Per mere per terram !

Hello Bootneck, welcome to RibNet. There aint many places short of going over to the east coast.

I launch at Farndon marina and have a steady cruise on the trent. Usually after 15.00

You can try Holme Pierpont watersports course but you have to fit in with the sailing activites and can prove expensive, £40 for 30 mins last time I enquired. We tend to use Levington on the Orwell for most of our cruising. 3hrs from Mansfield and you can either venture out to sea or cruise the River Orwell.

Check ya pm box

You could make your way over to SKegness sometime over the summer; several people on here are planning a trip from Skeggie to Wells and back. Keep an eye on the cruise planning section.....

You can only do a "powerboat engine test" here for half an hour early doors just in case a stickbote turns up. Costs about £8 and is only really useful for checking everything working OK, before having to recover.

have organised a week on a canal long boat, always wanted to do it, i suspect the kids will love it. Not sure where exactly in the area we will be as left it to the mrs to arrange but cant wait . Speeding around in a 5mph diesel torpedo should be a lot of fun and a big change from our normal fibreglass boating!! i believe it has a real fire and radiators, tv, shower, kitchen, garden, bbq, 2 double bedrooms and all the usual refinements a ribber wants so that will be nice.
