Build quality must be good, it's still very sound. It has a 'box' with the petrol tanks in which I use as a seat.
Enough room for 4 of us to use on holiday with quite a bit of beach stuff onboard. Very dry ride and handles superb. Pops up on the plane quickly too. It was cheap but I am v pleased with it. I even like the mad tubes.....
.....It was going so well!

Really? More 'big up what you own' with zero experience of anything else that floats , I thought. It appears to feature heavily as an RC ownership trend. ;-)

I've tried it, didn't go much on it.

Might just be that plenty of RC owners are very pleased with what they have. That in itself is a good recommendation.
And to answer the original question and not go off on a your boats better than mine tangent..... Of the two you have narrowed it down to for the use you have described there isn't much in it, but personally I'd go RC,
Great build quality and hold their values well. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Searider crew taught us everything we know!

I've owned 3 boats in my time, two Zodiacs and a Ribcraft. There's nothing wrong 'bigging up' what you have experience from. After all, it's just advice, not exactly a sales endorsement. I've been critical of Ribcraft too.

The Ribeye looks like a great boat, but they're fairly rare, and the ones I have seen aren't exactly cheap. £27k for a 2012 boat and Yamaha 100. Ribeye A500 for sale, 5.00m, 2012 | BoatshedDartmouth.com

I agree, but it's pretty worthless if the poster has little or no experience of any other rib of a similar size/type.

A £20 filling station dinghy is 'amazing' if your only previous experience is with armbands.

Yer. I believe we're on Incident#5 now... http://www.donegaldaily.com/2014/06/...market-dinghy/

OP - if you want a RIB-X, go for it. Let us know how it went. IMO there are no super-ribs out there that we haven't heard of. Buying second hand seems to make the most sense as you will be paying the REAL market value.

Lol, yeah, I know, I was just being daft. I remember seeing a "Saint and Greavesie" special on a coracle that used to be paddled outside Notts Forests ground to collect wayward footballs on match day!
