I use em on the fishing boat as do a lot of others. The RNLI have them stuck to the bottom of their dry suits and ALB crew's also use them.

Rnli Mk 2 dry suit boot sole on my demo suit ,
& my own Yellow steel toed fishing wellies bought for £15 from a fishing supplies / chandlers .
colour doesent scuff off either or leave marks behind .
