Or better still let her have a look at both types of boat in the 'flesh'.
I've found (and it is a generalisation (look mum I pelt it!) ) that wives and girlfriends like hard boats with some shelter and comfort.
In fact I've got my wife on my back to get something more suited to her and kids. Looked at a couple of small trailer displacement boats with in board diesels. Looking at the fuel costs of going 6 or 7 knotts everywhere for next to nothing is winning me over. Could be a searider for sale soon.

if i remember correctly they did find it, i might be wrong, you'll have to be a complete arsehole to burst at least 5 chambers and hole the hull to sink a rib

RIB's are like girls - they go like trains when properly pumped up, whereas 'Boats' are more like boys, they cruise around looking hard but seldom coming up to expectations unless exceptionally well endowed financially.

All in my opinion.

RIB+ Stability when stationary and at low speeds, excellent for recovering swimmers, fishing. Excellent recovery from being swamped due to high flotation brought about by the tubes.

RIB - Can burst, expensive to buy, limited durability.

IMO. The smaller the craft the greater the advantage the RIB has over the hard boat.

If your not in hurry, take her along to Ribex next month to see what it is all about. Lots of Ribs to try.

Then go along to the Sportsboat & Rib show on the Hamble. There she can see both side by side.

My wife wanted "us" to get a hard boat, so I took her along to both these shows and came away with a RIB, which she thoughly enjoys and even pesters me to get out on it. Result....
