Rib rescue

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/4559193.stm

Totally ON topic!!!

"A lifeboat woman who helped rescue two fishermen from a stranded vessel will become the first female crew member to receive a bravery medal on Thursday."

Seem like the conditions were terrible but the RNLI RIB was well up to it - we are so lucky in the UK to have the best lifeboat service in the world - bar none!!!

Seems unusual at first to think of a woman getting such an award - in fact the first in 100 years but then again we shouldn't forget the story of Grace Darling - and she didn't even have a RIB!!!

Oh yes, full marks to the lady from Wales, usual RNLI courageous tale of derring do. etc etc. Think this story was in the last Lifeboats magazine. (which they still send me even though I cancelled my sub when I emmigrated last year!)

Anyway, what do Codprawn & Grace Darling have in question?

For what it's worth i have taken this up with them - i said i'd rather see my donation go towards equiptment than a magazine. I was told the magazine made more money from adverts that it cost to produce, so this is quite likely the reason why they are sending you and I them having cancelled our membership!
