Mmm...
1) Phone up nice man at Park'n Launch to ask him if he wouldn't mind being a sweetie and popping our trailer onto the private slipway.....
2) Bimble up the channel, whilst topping up tan and receiving admiring glances from people out and about.....
3) Arrive at slip just as trailer wheels touch the waters edge...
4) Drive on whilst nice man clips on safety chain and tractor pulls off in one smooth movement…
5) Tilt up engine….and relax. Job done…..
6) 15 seconds…

Ok… that’s how it should go…

1) Pick up phone…bugger… flat battery….
2) Call up friend on VHF and ask nicely if they’ll relay the call…
3) Try and find correct phone number… friends have now just discovered that Pwllheli Pizza Parlour don’t do boat recovery…
4) Arrive at Slipway in plenty of time and find a flotilla of racing yachts being hauled out…
5) Go for pootle around marina and start worrying about the rapidly falling tide….
6) Trailer arrives at slipway and tractor driver immediately submerges it to the level of the tow hitch…
7) Drive towards trailer just as gust of wind howls down channel….
8) Reverse off the rocks to the applause of the crowd of baying spectators…
9) Ask wife to “stop giving advice” in a VERY loud whisper….
10) Regain vision after receiving sharp blow to the back of the head…
11) Drive boat onto trailer, ignoring the graunching sound as the inverted rollers gouge the hull..
12) Hurl abuse at the tractor driver who suggests you “may wish to take her off and level her up properly…
13) Collapse back, exhausted in seat…..
14) Remember to tilt engine just after you hear the familiar sound of skeg on concrete…..
15) 45 minutes ish?

................watching me because that's exactly how I do it to the letter. Oh...I would add that just as the safety chain goes "click" I light up a big Cohiba........
